Emerging Talent – Celebrating female designers
of jewellery from 1880-1940
Jewellery design between 1880 and 1940 was very exciting. Various styles were emerging and female jewellers were beginning to make a name for themselves. This talk will cover a number of designers, including the celebrated designers Jessie Marion King and Phoebe Traquair, who were both based in Scotland. The exceptional work of Julia Munson and Meta Overbeck who designed for Tiffany & Co in America will also be considered and we will also look at the outstanding work of Sibyl Dunlop & Dorrie Nossiter, both British designers.

A Celebration of Coronation Jewellery
As we look forward to the Coronation of King Charles III and anticipate the fabulous jewels and regalia that will be worn by the guests, we will consider royal jewels from around the world … but with a twist! Rather than a potted history we will look at the jewels in various categories, including the most magical royal jewel, the most controversial royal jewel and the most utterly magnificent piece of regalia to have been made. This talk will be a great way to start celebrating the Coronation.
Lectures are individually priced at £42* and include tea or coffee on arrival
and a complimentary glass of fizz and sandwich lunch after the Talk.
