Van Cleef & Arpels 3 of 3 – A World of Passionate Design
This final talk on Van Cleef & Arpels will delve into the fascinating years of creativity post war. The Alhambra® range of jewellery has sophistication, style and glamour all mixed in. Made famous by the Princess of Monaco and worn by many this is a legendry creation, that incorporates the good luck four leaf Clover. We will look at the importance of the Clover leaf in Van Cleef & Arpels designs and why it was called Alhambra®. The importance of fashion and textiles as an inspiration on design will also be considered, from ribbons and bows to Serge and Jersey designs, this will be a talk that brings fashion and jewels together.

Jewellery Envy – The World of Georgian Jewellery and Fashion
To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth this talk will look at the magnificent Georgian jewellery and fashion which is highly collectable today. Ladies changed numerous times each day during the Georgian period. During the 1920’s Vogue suggested a new piece of jewellery for every new outfit purchased … we will see the Georgians did it first, changing numerous times each day – with the jewels to go with each outfit!! From diamonds to paste, sentimental jewellery to parures, the Georgians had it covered together with the outstanding clothes of the time.

Our Christmas talk will be full of sparkle, Satin & Silk. There is always a twist with our Christmas talks, so be prepared to be engulfed in frivolity, fun and glamour to put you in the mood for the festive season.
There will of course be Champagne too … in abundance … we look forward to celebrating with you.
Lectures are individually priced at £47* and include tea or coffee on arrival and a complimentary glass of fizz and sandwich lunch after the Talk.
The Gallery doors will open between 11am and 11.15am and the Talk will commence at 11.30am
