Join author and long standing friend of the gallery, Steven Moore in conversation with Susan about Steven’s new book “The Stuff of History”. Described as a “Curated compendium of curious object and forgotten people”.

Steven will discuss both the process of how the book came about, the perils of the editing process as well as reading excerpts, including a chapter about a little known episode in Harrogate.

Art Deco Delights, with Will Farmer

Join Will Farmer, the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow Specialist and Director of Fieldings Auctioneers, Stourbridge, for a presentation titled Art Deco – The Age of Elegance, looking back at the 1925 Paris Exhibition which changed the face of design across the world and became one of the most influential and important exhibitions the world has ever seen.

In the second part of Will’s presentation he will share a selection of items from this period which will display its significance on design, including items which will be included in Fieldings Decades of Design sale on the 12th & 13th March at their Stourbridge salerooms, which will be discussed after lunch. The event will end at around 3pm.

Unveil the breath-taking opulence of the  jewels included in the spectacular Dynastic Jewels Exhibition  at Paris’s Hôtel de la Marine, (which is also the home of the Al Thani Collection). Featuring legendary gems from Queen Victoria and Catherine the Great, to include amongst many, The Leuchtenberg Emerald Tiara, The Briolette of India – A D-colour teardrop diamond once linked to Eleanor of Aquitaine and the French Crown Jewels.
