The Jewelled Gift
Our December talk sends us into the historical world of gift giving through jewellery. We will look at the famous jewels that have been exchanged at Christmas and made history, from stunning Royal jewels across the globe to magical jewels belonging to movie stars and of course the introduction of The Tiffany Cracker, by you guessed it Tiffany & Co! Jewellery is immensely symbolic and Christmas has always been a perfect opportunity to reflect this. We look forward to having lots of festive cheer with you in December.

JANUARY
Thursday 12th, Saturday 14th or Friday 27th
The Jewelled World of Hollywood
Three movie stars feature at The Gallery this January, with an abundance of beautiful jewellery and fashion. Marlene Dietrich, Paulette Goddard and Marilyn Monroe. Marlene Dietrich was followed by admirers wherever she went. Her jewels were by Van Cleef & Arpels, Trabert & Hoeffer-Mauboussin and Paul Flato – rich in colour and bold in design. Paulette Goddard was married four times and one of her husbands was Charlie Chaplin. Her eclectic mix of jewellery is quirky, dazzling and jaw droppingly fabulous. Marilyn Monroe – needs no introduction … diamonds … Harry Winston … bring on the elegant bling! Glamour and Grace will fill The Gallery this January for sure!

JANUARY
Friday 13th, Thursday 26th or Saturday 28th
A Queen of Style – Mary of Teck
Mary of Teck, the wife of King George V and queen consort from 1910 until 1936, owned a superb collection of jewellery. It wasn’t just superb, it was outstanding! As we head into another historically important year for our Royal Family, it is a perfect opportunity to discover the world of Mary of Teck through her jewellery. A collection which has left a lasting impression on us all.
Lectures are individually priced at £38* and include tea or coffee on arrival
and a complimentary glass of fizz after the Talk.
The Gallery doors will open between 11am and 11.15am and the Talk will commence at 11.30am
