Sumptuous Splendour – The Jewellery of The Rothschild Family
The banking and industry success of the Rothschild family enabled them to acquire magnificent jewellery and works of art. Join us at The Gallery to immerse yourself in an abundance of exceptional jaw dropping jewellery to complement the exciting society life of the family since the C18th. The family seat is Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire where a permanent display of a selection of jewellery and works of art was opened in 2019. Highlights from this collection will be discussed as well as pieces that have been sold at auction over recent years.

Magical Milan
Milan is the centre of Italian fashion, having held its first fashion week in 1958. Movie stars, royals and fashionistas have flocked to Milan since to admire the works of Armani, Prada and Versace. Milan has also produced talented jewellery designers. We will discover what amazing stylish jewellery has emerged throughout the C20 and C21st centuries, including the superb jewellery designers such as Bucellati with intricate style and Pomellato using an abundance of colourful gemstones.

The Thurn und Taxis family have a fabulous history, from forming the postal service to having a punk princess in the family, there is plenty to talk about, and that is even before we look at the jewellery!

The Elegance and Beauty of Vienna
Our trip to Vienna explores elegance and beauty in jewellery. The exceptional jewellery supplied to nobility was made by Viennese jewellers Köchert & Pioté and Rozet & Fischmeister.
This talk will also look at the growing interest in Austro Hungarian jewellery as well as the wonderful contemporary jewellery house, Freywille, founded by Michaela Frey in Vienna in 1951.
